Supplying your own artwork, here is what you need to know
Bleed Requirements
Add 3mm bleed to all edges of your artwork. Bleed extends backgrounds/images beyond the trim edge to avoid white borders. If no bleed is supplied, we’ll try to add it for you and show it in your proof. The bleed requirements for Roller Banners are slightly different, please contact for details.
Sizing and Templates
Please use the supplied product templates, found on the product pages, they are there to help you get the best possible job. It is especially important to use the presentation folder templates as these show where the knife will cut and crease your artwork. DO NOT include the template in the artwork, unless you like it so much you want it printing on your job!
File Types
We can print directly from the following file types: PDF (Portable Document Format) - Preferred; AI (Please embed images and Fonts) We accept files created in most Mac and Windows design programs. Please note: We convert all files to .PDF before printing. You’re welcome to convert your files yourself using any free online PDF converter.
Microsoft Files

We do not print or convert from any Microsoft files, please create your own PDF at the size required for printing. Where PDF file do not contain bleed we will print with a white border around your design. A proof will be provided for you to approve prior to print.
Proofs and File Checks

Our pre-press system checks your file for Bleed, Page Sizes, Resolution issues and RGB to CMYK conversion. We do not check spelling, design, or content. You will receive an email proof to approve. Important: Your order cannot be changed once you approve the proof. Production and despatch begin immediately after approval.
Sending Files

We recommend sending files via the website when placing your order or via wetransfer.com or easytransfer.net, especially large files that are over the email sending limits.
Print Sizes

When preparing artwork, we print standard sizes: A6, DL, A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, A0. Allow for bleed (see above section below). Download our page size templates to assist you. Contact us for non standard sizes. Important for folded leaflets: Each panel must fit within the folded sections: 6-page DL leaflet: Panels should be 99mm x 210mm each. 4-page A5 leaflet: Panels should be 148.5mm x 210mm each.
Fonts

Whilst font substitutions are rare now as PDF technology has improved, please convert your fonts to outlines or curves or embed the font within your file. Always check fonts within your proof.
Images

Please use images at 300dpi, there should be no reason to use greater resolution than this. Web images and graphics will generally be 72dpi and when printed may appear pixelated and blurred.
Colour

Files should be supplied in CMYK colour mode. We convert any RGB files to CMYK before printing, which may slightly alter colours.It is your responsibility to check colours have converted correctly. Printing uses four colours: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (CMYK).
Page Layouts and Impositions

Please do not lay our multiple artworks on a page, we do that automatically on printing and we may batch print your job with others of the same size. Please supply artwork pages for books, flyers, folded leaflets as single pages, in the order required for the document in a single multipage PDF. If you require blank pages please insert blank pages in the file.
